Get your bean bag chairs, t-shirts that signal you drink and appetite for adventure ready for “22 Jump Street.” The anticipated sequel to the 2012 film is out in theaters today so I went last night to give you all my Glamberous Review before you head out to see the movie this weekend.

In “22 Jump Street,” Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are back as undercover and hilarious cops Schmidt and Jenko. The movie reboot of the 1987 television series send Schmidt and Jenko to a local college to uncover the spread of a new drug “WhyPhy,” that left a college student dead, and let the foolery commence.

I think the best part of this film besides Ice Cube and his hilarious funny nature, was the amount of puns in this movie. It was like an extremely long SNL Digital Short but extremely funny. The actors in character constantly poked fun at the sequel and the bigger budget this film got because of the success of the first film. They even made an elaborate joke out of the idea of countless follow-up films, it was hilarious!

Now back to the film as a whole. “22 Jump Street” is a film that can stand on its own. You don’t need to have watched the first film to go to see this. There are only a few jokes that only people who saw “21 Jump Street” would understand but besides that you can totally get into this film with no prior knowledge of the first. AND this film gives you a good “previously on” snippet to catch you up.

Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum are comedic magic together in the film. I’m not sure how much of the dialogue was improv or actually scripted but it was as if whatever I was thinking, they said it, making for very funny moments. I would have to say Hill was the funniest out of the pair though, especially during the ‘slam poetry’ scene. The pace of the film seemed rushed in the beginning then dragged out in the end but had a consistent flow in between. There were a few plot twists that will excite you as an audience member, one really shocked me in the best way possible. Ice Cube had more scene time in this film and delivered.

Overall “22 Jump Street” in an action packed film filled with laughs and a must see this weekend!
