I feel like Jay Z’s comeback career is even better than the first time he came out in regards of marketing cause he sure knows how to be innovative.
In early July, Jay gathered a lucky selection of people from all walks of life to watch him spend six hours at Pace art gallery in New York performing “Picasso Baby,” a single off his latest album Magna Carter Holy Grail.
The unique experience was recording and will be released to the public in a HBO special called “Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film.”
In the 30 second preview Jay says, “Rap is thinking out loud, and you’re putting your fears and your vulnerabilities and your insecurities to music. Concerts are pretty much performance art, and a smaller venue is a bit more intimate, so you feel the energy of the people.”
“Picasso Baby: A Performance Art Film” will premiere Friday, August 2 at 11pm. Watch the preview below.
