Viral Video: SNL’s Kate McKinnon Impersonates Ellen on Ellen

They say imitation is the greatest form of flattery so Ellen DeGeneres didn’t take it personal when weekend sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live, SNL, decided to poke a little fun at the daytime talk show host/comedian.

The actress behind the Ellen bits on SNL is current season regular Kate McKinnon. In the clips on SNL, McKinnon is dressed in a short blonde wig, Ellen-esque attire (i.e. a sweater or collared shirt, jeans, and sneakers) and dances around while saying clever antidotes. Let’s just say Kate McKinnon does one heck of an Ellen impersonation.

Kate McKinnon was a recent guest on The Ellen Show and participated in a segment in the show where she was given the same outfit Ellen was wearing that day and was asked to close out the show doing her Ellen impersonation. When you get two Ellen DeGeneres’ in the same room you KNOW it’s going to be hilarious!
