Where do I even start with the season 2 finale of HBO’s Girls?! I ABSOFREAKINLUTELY LOVED IT! What a way to end a season Lena Dunham! I laughed, I cried, a lot and overall thought it opened up new story lines for next season and wrapped up ones on this season. So let’s just get into this Girls season 2 finale recap.

The last episode of season 2 titled “Together” really did tie up loose ends and opened new ones to be answered in the next season. I was a little upset my girl Jessa didn’t make an appearance but I did get a laugh at her voice mail message. The season finale was filled with love and sex but that’s not out of the ordinary for our girls so I’ll sum up each girl’s story.

What Happened with Shoshanna Shosh is just not feeling it with Ray anymore. After they “have sex,” the two have a slight argument about Ray having no ambition and Shosh being plain sick of it. But it’s one of those things that when you’re done with someone you create any excuse as a reason to end the relationship, so that’s what’s happening here. In an attempt to make things better Ray goes to his boss and tell him he’s ready to quit to go back to school to get his PhD in Latin; instead he offers Ray the chance to run the expanded store for Grumpy’s. Excited about telling Shoshanna the news, Ray’s bubble is busted when Shosh breaks up with him. She tells him she can’t handle his negative attitude about everything as she grows into a “fully formed human.” Ray leaves, Shosh sobs and the show ends with her hooking up with a guy at a bar.

What Happened with Marnie Marnie is happy again despite the crazy year she had. She was dumped, lost her job and discovered she wanted to sing but ended up being satisfied in her journey. Charlie, Marnie’s ex, and she are having casual sex and that really upsets Marnie when she figures that out. While the two have lunch Marnie confesses she’s a mess and wants to be with Charlie. She wants to have his brown babies and watch him die. Charlie has a confession of his own. He tells Marnie that he loves her too and that everything he did was to impress her. Of course I cried, I like these two together, much better than I did in the first season. I think the Charlie with balls and a beard. Marlie is so my new fav fictional couple. Marnie also attempts to make amends with Hannah by showing up to her apartment but she hides behind her bed. Marnie ends the season going on a date with Charlie in what looks like the meatpacking district.

What Happened with Hannah The girl Hannah is just all over the place and it’s really sad to see her unraveling like this. Following her ruptured ear drum she spends the first few minutes of the episode testing her hearing by snapping and doing a Google search on “ruptured eardrums” and “normal tongue.” She gets a call from her E-book publisher and he tells her she will get sued if she doesn’t finish. So Hannah has to complete an entire book in a day. Feeling the pressure of that situation Hannah calls her dad and asks if he could give her the money from the advance she got from her book to pay her publisher back so she could have freedom again. He denies her so Hannah continues to go on her procrastination spree putting off her book.

Mind you, she still has on her hospital bracelet and the T-shirt she had on from the emergency room. After ducking Marnie, she proceeds to eat cool whip and get the bright idea to cut her hair. She attempts to do it herself but can’t reach the back so she calls Laird, the former drug addict, from downstairs. Hannah goes on a rant about broken glass and how nobody is there to help her pick up the pieces. She mistakenly assumes Laird wants to have sex with her so he tells her off. Later Hannah tries to call Jessa, naturally she doesn’t answer but wait didn’t she give her phone to that guy at the restaurant? Anywho, Hannah bashes Marnie, Shosh and Adam on the voice mail finally cracking under the pressure of work and having no one to turn to.

Now the BEST part! Hannah “facespaced” Adam by accident after he destroys some construction he’s doing in his apartment. The conversation is awkward until Hannah breaks into her OCD, “OCDC sh*t from high school” according to Adam. Hannah starts crying and tells Adam she’s really scared so he runs out the apartment to get to her, shirtless and sweaty. He gets to her apartment but Hannah wouldn’t open up, she’s hiding underneath the covers, so he kicked it in. Adam pulls the covers, Hannah looks up, hair chopped and screwed and whispers hoarsely, “you’re here.” Adam gives her this look and says, “I was always here.” Cue the violins because I was in a sea full of tears at this point. Adam picks Hannah up and they kiss.

Although I feel there was much closure there are still questions to be answered: Are Hannah and Adam a couple now? What will happen with Natalia? Where the hell is Jessa? Has Shosh become a whore? Where’s Ray going to live? And are Charlie and Marnie going to be a power couple? But I guess that’s what the next season is for.

If you’re like me, you’re pretty sad “Girls” is over but you can re-watch season 2 from the beginning on HBO On Demand and HBO GO NOW! So talk to me, what were your favorite parts of the Girls season 2 finale? What are you excited to see for season 3?
