Casting News: Lil Mama Cast as Left Eye in TLC Movie

This is kind of wonderful in terms of ideal casting. “Lip Gloss” Rapper and America’s Best Dance Crew judge Lil Mama will star in a VH1 biopic film on popular ’90’s girl group TLC as the late rapper Lisa “Lefteye” Lopes.

During a red carpet interview at the VIBE Impact Awards, veteran rapper MC Lyte let it slip that the young rapper landed the role. “I don’t know if I’m supposed to say, but I will,” Lyte coyly said to HipHollywood.com. “She just got the role of Left Eye in TLC’s new movie.”

Lisa “Lefteye” Lopes was the loud, spunky and outrageous member of the girl group TLC – along with members Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and Tionne “T-Boz” Watkins. Sadly, Lopes died in a tragic car crash at the age of 30. The biopic about the group, which has yet to start filming, will span the life of the group.

This will be the first acting role for Lil Mama. I think she’ll definitely have the look and personality down but can she act? Let’s hope so; will you watch a TLC biopic film? Let me know your opinions below.
