Many have been referring to the Super Bowl XLVII halftime show as “The Beyoncé concert!” Beyhive fans have been super excited for Bey’s halftime time show performance since the moment it was announced.
I for one was a little apprehensive. I mean I like Beyoncé, she’s my Virgo sister and I think she’s talented and hardworking but I feel like her past performances have been a little washed. It’s gotten to the point where I know her exact choreography, ad libs and special effects. The same ole’ Bey but her halftime show proved me KIND OF wrong.
I’ll admit, I was excited for her halftime show but I was not overly impressed about the results. Bey opened her show with a fanmade countdown. After fans swarmed the field, Bey emerged and did a medley of “Love on Top,” “Crazy in Love,” “End of Time” and “Baby Boy.” Her performance was very reminiscent of her 2011 Billboard Music Awards appearance.
Rumors of a Destiny’s Child reunion came true when Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams joined Bey onstage to perform their hits “Bootylicious” and “Independent Woman.” The girls even joined Bey for a while during “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It).” Clearly Beyoncé didn’t want to give them TOO much so she dismissed the ladies half way through the song. Beyoncé ended her halftime show slowing it down with “Halo.” I was a little disappointed Jay-Z didn’t come out. *sigh*
Beyoncé did look and sound great! I’ll give you that but I certainly was not wowed. If you missed the show, shame on you! Lucky for you, you can view it below! Don’t hold back; let me know your opinions below in the comments.
