5. Whitney Houston Dies For a moment in February the world stood still when music legend Whitney Houston was pronounced dead. Family, friends and fans were at a lost on how to react and were in total shock of the news especially for those who just saw Whitney the day before. It was later discovered that the cause of death of the “I Will Always Love You” singer was accidental drowning. Months after Houston’s death beautiful tributes and concerts have been performed in honor of the late singer. She may be gone but never forgotten. R.I.P Whitney Houston!

4. The World Welcomes Blue Ivy Queen Bey is no stranger to making headlines but when the “Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)” singer announced her pregnancy at the 2011 MTV Music Awards she landed the crown for the most tweets a minute regarding her pregnancy but many believed the singer was faking her pregnancy for whatever reason. Early 2012 Blue Ivy Carter was born instantly making her music royalty being born to Beyonce and rapper Jay- Z.

3. Fifty Shades of Grey Obsession In 2012 one little book trilogy changed the view of stay at home moms; they were officially seen as little horndogs and I don’t blame them because Fifty Shades of Grey is H-O-T HOT! The minute I decided to give the books a chance I was swept up into the “red room of pain.” Fifty Shades of Grey, a novel by E L James is book one of three about the young, rich, crazy handsome and sexually advanced Christian Grey and how he fell for the naive and beautiful Anastasia Steele. The plot line is originated from “Twilight” fan fiction so if you know Twi like the back of your hand like me you can easily point out the similarities. When news broke that the naughty novel would be turned into a film the libido of women everywhere was set to explode. Now all we need is the perfect Christian Grey!

2. Kristen Stewart Cheating Scandal Rocks Twilight Fandom Back in July Kristen Stewart’s haters quota skyrocketed when photos were released of the “Twilight” actress getting way too comfortable with the married director of “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which Stewart was the lead of. Twihards and Robsten lovers were heartbroken and stricken with confusion on why Kristen would cheat on her seemingly perfect boyfriend and co-star of the “Twilight” saga Robert Pattinson. Many thought the photos were photoshopped until Stewart released a statement apologizing for the incident and to Rob. I thought all was lost but since the scandal Rob and Kristen have broken up, got back together and promoted the hell out of “Twilight.” It seems Robsten went back to normal, for now.

1. Oppan Gangnam Style Gangnam Style tops the list for biggest story of 2012 because of one main reason: YouTube! The Korean singer Psy has surpassed Justin Bieber’s views on YouTube, BFD, and made Gangnam Style the most viewed video of all time with 1 billion views. Psy has become a global superstar due to the song and even performed alongside music legend MC Hammer at the American Music AwardsIf you still are at a lost as to what I’m talking about just watch for yourself!
